Cherrie D. Veriato's Obituary

**In Loving Memory of Cherrie Dale Veriato**

Cherrie Dale Veriato, born Martin on January 20, 1957, graced the world with her vibrant spirit until she passed away on December 8, 2025. A proud native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Cherrie carried the warmth and kindness of her home state throughout her life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Cherrie was a beloved wife to Robert Veriato and a devoted mother to her two daughters, Jocelyn and Nikka. The love that she shared with her family was palpable, built on laughter, support, and countless memories that will forever be cherished. Robert fondly remembers how he swept Cherrie off her feet on his motorcycle, a testament to their adventurous spirits and shared love for life. Together, they built a family that reflects both kindness and humor—a legacy Cherrie will always be remembered for.

Education was a cornerstone of Cherrie’s life. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Hawaii, a significant chapter not just for the knowledge she gained but also for the love story that unfolded there. Her career as an academic advisor at the University of California, Riverside, allowed her to guide the next generation, instilling in them a sense of purpose and direction. Her colleagues and students alike benefitted from her honesty, kindness, and the infectious joy she brought into every interaction.

Cherrie's personality was nothing short of extraordinary. She had a laugh that could light up a room—a full-bodied laugh that truly resonated with everyone around her. Cherrie was known for her generosity, her energetic spirit, and, perhaps most endearingly, her charming inability to hold her liquor! She embraced life with open arms, navigating it with a delightful mix of humor and grace. In her leisure time, you could find Cherrie indulging her love for horror and true crime movies and TV shows, exploring new recipes and restaurants, or going on long walks with her beloved dog, Frisbee. Scrapbooking was another passion, allowing her to capture and celebrate those precious moments she shared with family and friends. Adventures—big or small—were a vital part of her life and she was always ready to toast to whatever was around the corner. Cherrie’s journey through this world may have come to an end, but the love, joy, and laughter she brought into the lives of others will continue to shine brightly. Her family asks that you celebrate her life with as much joy as she lived it, remembering all the wonderful moments shared, and keeping her spirit alive in your hearts.

Rest in peace, Cherrie. You will be deeply missed, but your laughter echoes through our memories, and your kindness will live on in everything we do.
