Carolina Patricia Corona, affectionately known as Caro, was born on July 30, 1988, in San Diego, California, and departed this world on February 13, 2026. Throughout her life, Caro was a shining light to those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and mother, embodying a spirit of kindness that resonated deeply with her family.
Caro’s favorite memories were often steeped in the simplicity of her childhood, where she found pure joy in playing outside her family home alongside her beloved cats, sister, friends or being with her cousins. She loved Disney movies, specifically Disney princesses, which was a love she shared with her sister and niece. Another joy was swimming. Whether it was in the ocean or in a swimming pool, Caro was always in the water.
Family gatherings became an exciting occasion for Caro, who cherished the laughter and love that filled those spaces. She had a special bond with her niece, Kaya, spending delightful afternoons coloring together and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her love extended generously to her nephews, Isaiah, Matthew, and Ronan, who were always a source of joy in her life. As adults, her family made it a priority to celebrate holidays and birthdays, which had once been sparse but became treasured moments of togetherness, love, and laughter.
Caro was known for her musical talent, playing both the trumpet and piano during her youth, which enriched her life and the lives of those around her. She embraced her roots, always returning to the vibrant sounds of Chicano rap and early 2000s music, finding solace and happiness in the melodies. More than anything, she found her greatest joy in family, especially in spending time with her daughter, Caroline. Their bond was undeniable, and Caroline held a special place in Caro's heart as she navigated motherhood with love, encouragment and no judgment.
One of Carolina's proudest accomplishments was her remarkable resilience in overcoming life's adversities. In her darkest moments, she turned to God, finding strength and hope that allowed her to reconnect with her family and build upon the relationships she cherished. This journey of faith and perseverance inspired those around her. Her triumphant return to love and connection demonstrated her profound strength, courage, and faith—a gift that her family will forever hold dear.
Caro leaves behind a loving family: her devoted mother, Patricia; her supportive father, Rogelio; her caring daughter, Caroline; her brothers Aaron and Robin; and her sisters Karen, Amanda, and Daniella. They will all strive to keep her memory alive, honoring the cherished moments they shared.
She is preceded in death by her cousin, Jamie Corona, and her grandparents, Juanita Ortega and Memo Ortega. Their spirits will undoubtedly watch over her as she continues on her journey.
Caro's legacy is one of genuine love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family. Her kindness will continue to echo in the hearts of all who loved her, and she will be missed dearly. As we reflect upon her life, we remember not just the struggles she overcame but the deep and profound love she shared; her spirit will forever be a guiding light for her family.
